TO TEACH the undeniably true Word of God and remove false ideas of who He is and His role in our lives.
TO DISCIPLE the generations after us into a deeper relationship with God and an understanding that they must not stop with mere mediocrity in their faith and relationship with God.
TO MOBILIZE people for the mission field through staffing YWAM Orlando Schools, and leading outreaches. And by using photography and/or video as a medium to bring people into missions and/or spur them on to a deeper desire for interceding for the injustices around the world.
GOD is continually refining a vision in us for the ministry He has called us to be involved with and possibly lead out in.
The past several years God has specifically spoken to us regarding the gift he has given Kristen with photography. We feel the idea of using high quality photography and video within missions is pivotal in the area of helping the church understand what is going on around the world, whether it is positive or negative. And also in allowing God to move in the hearts of people who see the photos and/or videos in order for them to pray more specifically and possibly even go on a mission trip themselves. As a photographer, Kristen’s goal in taking photos is to be a voice for the people of the world who do not have a voice.
During the summer of 2009, we had the privilege of leading the first documentary trip to leave the YWAM Orlando base. We took 5 people to the Dominican Republic for the purpose of capturing the injustices in that particular country and also documenting several youth short term trips. With the photos and video footage we created a photo book and two short videos which will be used as mobilization tools.

This passage is vital in thinking about and planning for the future. We do not know everything God has in store for our lives, but we do know a few things He has called us to do within missions. One such thing is continuing to lead Documentary style outreaches. One of our current goals is to lead documentary trips to each area the YWAM Orlando base focuses on. As a mission, YWAM Orlando needs high quality media in order to mobilize more people into God’s mission field. In the next few years we would also like to lead a Documentary DTS during which students would be getting the core DTS teachings and also learning about using photography/Film-making/journalism within missions. The outreach will be focused on finding a story and being able to capture and relate the story accurately along with being able share God’s truth and love.
